Mechanism Iteration Under Match Pressure
The 2019-2020 V5RC season pushed the high-school robot from basic competition function toward more deliberate mechanism packaging, scoring repeatability, and design reviews with the team.

Engineering Focus
Packaging mechanisms around a playable strategy
This season made the connection between game strategy and mechanism design much clearer. The robot needed to score quickly, stay maintainable, and give drivers predictable behavior, so every geometry change had to be checked against match flow.

Takeaway
Iteration became a team habit
I got better at turning test results into specific design changes: adjust the contact point, shorten the unsupported span, move the service access, or simplify the assembly. That loop became the foundation for the later VEX U work.
